Mark McClellan, M.D., Ph.D., is the Director of the Robert J. Margolis Center for Health Policy, and the Margolis Professor of Business, Medicine, and Health Policy at Duke University. He is also a MITRE Senior Visiting Fellow and co-chair of the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network (LAN). Dr. McClellan is a physician-economist who focuses on quality and value in healthcare, including payment reform, real-world evidence, and more effective drug and device innovation. He is the former administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where he developed and implemented major reforms in health policy. Previously, Dr. McClellan was a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and a faculty member at Stanford University.
